Certificates in Early Child Care Leadership (Online)

Our 100% Online Undergraduate Certificates in Early Child Care Leadership provide you with the skills to develop, lead, and manage high-quality early childhood programs. Coursework and Requirements 

Required (3 courses)

  • HDFS 4650: Administration/Supervision in Early Childhood Settings
  • HDFS 3650: Diversity in the Lives of Young Children and Families
  • HDFS 3550: Technology and Young Children
  • HDFS 4720: Child and Family Advocacy


Only one course, HDFS 4650, may be counted on both certificates. For students earning both certificates, all other courses listed on each program of study must not overlap.

Required (3 courses)

  • HDFS 4650: Administration/Supervision in Early Childhood Settings
  • HDFS 4730: Financial Management of Early Childhood Programs
  • HDFS 4735: Early Childhood Business, Legal, and Ethical Considerations
  • HDFS 3050: Child Development: Infancy and Toddlerhood OR HDFS 3150: Child Development: Preschool to Pre-Adolescence

Only one course, HDFS 4650, may be counted on both certificates. For students earning both certificates, all other courses listed on each program of study must not overlap.
