Dr. Jean Ispa is currently involved in research describing maternal directive behaviors used during play with their toddlers, the emotional tone that accompanies those behaviors, and their implications for children in diverse low-income families. There may be academic-credit opportunities for undergraduate students to participate in the creation of running records and coding of mother-child play.
