Fiorella L. Carlos Chavez, PhD
Dr. Carlos Chavez is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Missouri in the Department of Human Development and Family Science. Her research interests focus on family life stressors of Latinos; migration, acculturative stress, daily life stressors, and the burdens associated with various working conditions; household food insecurity among Latino families; and impact of acculturative stress on Latino college students.
Dr. Carlos Chavez received a BA and a BBA from Roanoke College in 2007, a MS from San Diego State University in 2014, and a PhD from Florida State University in 2018.

Dr. Gülseven is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the School of Education at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Gülseven’s research interests include parental, cultural, and contextual correlates of prosocial behaviors and moral development in children and adolescents.
Dr. Gülseven received a BS in Psychology from Abant İzzet Baysal University, in Turkey, in 2009, a MS in Early Childhood Development from the University of Missouri in 2015, and a PhD in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri in 2019.
Dr. Jihee Im is a research associate in the Center for Children and Families Across Cultures at the University of Missouri. Dr. Im’s research interests include determinants of parenting including parenting cognitions, economic stress, and culture and children’s socio-emotional development in the family context.
Dr. Im received a BA in psychology and a MA in human resource development from Sungkyunkwan University in Korea and a PhD in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri.
Dr. Seunghee Han is a research associate in the Center for Children and Families Across Cultures at the University of Missouri. Dr. Han’s research interests include cultural factors, family contexts, and family processes in self-regulation, school readiness, and positive development particularly among children from at-risk families.
Dr. Han received a BA in early childhood education from Chung-Ang University in 2001, a MA in early childhood education from Chung-Ang University in 2004, and a PhD in Human Environmental Sciences from the University of Missouri in 2020.
Dr. Youngsook Han is a research associate in the Center for Children and Families Across Cultures at the University of Missouri. Dr. Han’s research interests include children and adolescents’ prosocial development and peer relationships; roles of interparental, coparental, and parent-child relationships in children’s social and moral outcomes; cultural factors and parenting; media exposure and children’s empathic tendencies and prosocial behavior.
Dr. Han received a BA in child psychology and education from the Sungkyunkwan University in 2008, a MA in child and family studies from the Yonsei University in 2010, and a PhD in human environmental science from the University of Missouri in 2018.
