Bio
As a research practitioner, Dr. Anderson leverages over two decades of career experience to establish accessible linkages between the theory, research, and practice of youth development. His career as a youth development specialist has ranged in scope from county 4-H clubs in rural Missouri to the more global reach of Army Headquarters. Keystones of Dr. Anderson’s approach include creating innovative developmental environments that engage the voice of youth, leveraging youth-adult partnerships, and utilizing emerging technologies. This includes founding FilmFest 4-H, the national youth film festival, the state 4-H Photo Corps, and coordinating Missouri’s State 4-H Council. Dr. Anderson’s research interests include youth leadership, military families, and the emerging field of positive youth development.
